SANTA MARINELLA


An area of the ancient ports of Pyrgi, Punicum and Castrum Novum that was frequented by travellers from all over the Mediterranean. A meeting place for Etruscans, Greeks and Phoenicians. The archaeological area of Pyrgi with the monumental complex of the Castle of Santa Sevra and its museums is one of the most important archaeological - historical sites in central Italy. The Nature Reserve of Macchiatonda is a still unaltered piece of the ancient coast of Pyrgi, a stretch of land between the beach and the Mediterranean scrublands
